Newly acquired Colorado Avalanche all-star veteran defenseman Brent Burns was spotted in a surprising on-ice moment that no one saw coming, leaving fans completely stunned.
The Avalanche reached a
one-year agreement with the veteran defenseman earlier this offseason.

Earlier today, Burns was spotted dawning the Avalanche colours at a morning skate with Milan Hejduk who appeared to be the new skills coach, as reported by Brennan Vogt from Hockey Mountain High.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Burns will earn a $1 million base salary next season, with performance bonuses on games played that could push the total to $4 million.
Burns recorded six goals and 23 assists over 82 games last season with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The 40-year-old has spent the past three seasons in Carolina following an 11-year run with the San Jose Sharks and seven seasons with the Minnesota Wild. Across his NHL career, Burns has tallied 261 goals and 649 assists in 1,497 games.
Burns also brings 135 games of playoff experience to Colorado, during which he's tallied 24 goals and 56 assists, including eight power-play goals.
A native of Barrie, Ontario, Burns was selected 20th overall by the Wild in the first round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and made his debut during the 2003-04 season.
He won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's top defenseman in 2017 while playing for the San Jose Sharks.
It remains to be seen where he'll slot into the Avalanche's lineup, and whether his arrival prompts any other roster moves. We'll have to wait and see.
