Must See: Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood makes bid for save of the year

Scott Wedgewood was faced with a ton of pressure during Wednesday nights game against the Blackhawks, including one sequence that ultimately led to an outstanding save, one that could be considered the save of the year.

In what seemed to be an easy two points for the Colorado Avalanche, they ended up having to fight a littler harder in this one as Martin Necas forces overtime with just 9.8 seconds left in the third.

However, Wedgewood executed a phenomenal save agaisnt Blackhawks defenseman Wyatt Kaiser after he received a nice pass from Pat Maroon.

Both goaltenders on the ice, Scott Wedgewood and Spence Knight have gone toe-to-toe all night with making exceptional saves keeping their teams afloat.

Thankfully after a scoreless the overtime, the Colorado Avalanche managed to complete the comeback and take a 3-2 victory in shootout, thanks to goal scores Nathan MacKinnon and Artturi Lehkonen.

The Colorado Avalanche will be playing back-to-back games this week as they will now take on the Columbus Blue Jackets later tonight at the Nationwide Arena.
