Colorado Avalanche Defenseman Forced To Leave The Team Ahead Of Crucial Three-Game Road Trip
The Colorado Avalanche are kicking off their three-game road trip tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks, but it has just been reported that a defenseman will be left behind as he will not travel with the team due to an injury.
Even though Kiviranta is a depth player, it's clear the Avalanche have missed his presence on the ice as the team went 1-1-1 without him, and had a couple of games where they blew third period leads.
Kiviranta has became an important depth role player for the Avalanche this season, he has the ability to play up and down the lineup, and has provided some solid depth scoring.
In 72 games this season, which is a new career high for
Kiviranta, he has also set new career highs in goals (16), assists (7), and points (23).
Colorado Avalanche Defenseman Leaves The Team
With some good news, comes some bad news, and according to Avalanche insider Evan Rawal of The Denver Gazette, the Avalanche are going to be without defenseman
Josh Manson on this road trip, as he is staying behind in Denver after suffering an upper-body injury.
"Defenseman Josh Manson will stay in Denver due to an upper-body injury".
For a big chunk of the 2024-25 season
Manson has been dealing with a lower-body injury, and has missed a big chunk of games due to it.
Josh Manson has only played 48 games this season for the Avalanche, and now there is speculation that he may not play another regular season game for them.
If this is the case, Manson would finish the year with one goal, 14 assists for 15 points in 48 games while averaging 18:02 of ice time per game.
