Insider Kyle Keef of Altitude recently posted that the Colorado Avalanche have everything they need to win the Stanley Cup again this NHL season.

The only thing in their way is their own health and the potential lack of forward depth. If they can go through the season without any major injuries, the sky is the limit.

Altitude host Kyle Keefe states only one thing stands in the way of the Avalanche.

Sean McKenna of Mile High Sticking reported about the post from the Altitude host. Keefe stated the Avalanche have the players both offensively and defensively to win the Stanley Cup, the only worry is about staying healthy.
"The Avalanche possess the best core of defensemen in the league. Led by now two-time Norris Trophy winner Cale Makar, scorer of 30 goals last season, the team boasts depth one through six, puck moving ability, defensive zone prowess, and a physical aspect suitable for playoff hockey." -McKenna

Along with a stacked top 6 forward core that can skate with anyone in the league and a reliable starting goalie, there is no telling how dominant this Avalanche team could be.
The only caveat is their health, it only takes one key guy to go down and the Avalanche will be in panic mode. Most notably Gabriel Landeskog who has returned after a multiple year hiatus. He doesn't have a large enough sample size to prove he is back for the long haul.
"The Western Conference is a difficult conference to advance out of as well. With teams like Winnipeg, Dallas, Edmonton and more, the Avalanche have a who's who of teams to defeat throughout the playoffs before they even get an opportunity to play for the chalice." -Mckenna

The Western conference is also no joke to get through either. Climbing up the ladder to get to the Cup finals will not be an easy task and is bound to leave its mark on the Avalanche players.
"Prior to making the playoffs, the Central Division is a gauntlet that any team will be lucky to get through without injury. Winnipeg won the President's Trophy last season. Dallas lost in the Stanley Cup finals. Minnesota and St. Louis both made the playoffs as wildcards." -McKenna

The Avalanche definitely have the team on paper to get the job done. But as we have experienced through the years its often the depth guys who come out in key games that make the difference. We will see if the Avalanche have a few that breakout this year.
