Head coach Jared Bednar brutally calls out the NHL Officials ahead of crucial Game-Six matchup
The Colorado Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar addressed the physicality of the series between the Avalanche and the Dallas Stars today.
The
Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars' 1st-round matchup has continued to put us in awe, as the games continue to be physical spectacles.
Of course, the skill doesn't get lost in the games, as both teams have highly skilled forwards.
Bednar would address the physicality of the series and how he thought the
Avalanche should approach each matchup. Comparing it to a war on the ice every night, which the team will have to fight through.
The Benn high-stick was involved in the discussion, which was a focal point, was the penalties taken by both teams in the series.
Stars' players like Lian Bischel had a total of 14 PIMs, and
Sam Steel had 12 PIMs, while
Logan O'Connor had 12 PIMs in Game 5, and
Parker Kelly had 14 PIMs. A night chock full of tensions as four players on each side earned a total of 26 PIMs a piece.
Bednar said he didn't like the officiating in the last game and felt like some of the penalties were questionable, which may have led to the statistics above. He felt like the Avalanche weren't diving, but were hitting everything they could on the ice, as he mentioned earlier, if it's a war, you fight through it!
The Avalanche will have to once again figure out how to turn the tide, and play their game, impose their will against the Stars as they face elimination in Game 6.
Can the Avalanche pick up the pieces and control the series once again in Game 6? It'll be on home ice in Ball Arena, what better place to turn it around?
