Alexandar Georgiev keeps his NHL dream alive.
Jourdon LaBarber from NHL.com reports that the Buffalo Sabres announced Thursday evening that they've signed Georgiev to a one-year, $825,000 contract.
Georgiev, 29, spent last season with both the Avalanche and San Jose Sharks, appearing in 49 games combined and finishing with an .875 save percentage.
"Georgiev has played 303 career games spanning eight seasons with the New York Rangers, Colorado and San Jose. He led the league in wins in both 2022-23 and 2023-24 as a member of the Avalanche and was selected to the All-Star Game in 2024." -LaBarber
As the new NHL season approaches, Georgiev will aim to carve out a significant role with the Sabres, bringing his veteran experience to a developing roster and providing stability and leadership in goal while helping guide the team's young core toward a more competitive campaign.
With a fresh start in Buffalo, Georgiev will have the opportunity to rebound from a challenging previous season, prove his consistency at the NHL level, and make a meaningful impact on a team looking to contend in the Eastern Conference.
