Fans have been left stunned after Colorado Avalanche star forward Artturi Lehkonen was shockingly snubbed in the latest development, sparking plenty of buzz and speculation.

Lehkonen has easily become one of the NHL's most underrated forwards in recent years.

Artturi Lehkonen snubbed hard in latest report.

Conor Lively from Mile High Sticking writes that as is common when a sports team reaches an anniversary season, the media trends to roll out lists and articles celebrating the best moments and players over the years.
Recently, the Locked On Avalanche podcast shared their '30 Best Players in the First 30 Years' list on X, and couldn't help but notice the one player that was glaringly left out.
The Avalanche have been fortunate to boat incredible talent over the years, so I understand that these kinds of lists will vary and that everyone has their own opinion. That said, I can see the case for why every player included deserved their spot. What I can't wrap my head around, however, is how Lehkonen was left off entirely.
"For starters, Lehkonen stands as one of the big heroes of the 2022 Stanley Cup championship season due to his series winning goals in both the Western Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Finals. That's right, a Stanley Cup winning goal.

His penchant for clutch scoring and game-winning goals has earned him the nickname 'Good Stick Lehky', which is one of my favorites. He also boasts 11 regular season game-winners. That's more than Nazem Kadri had and tied with both Sandis Ozolinsh and Devon Toews." -Lively

On top of that, Lehkonen's 139 points in 194 games wearing an Avalanche sweater should earn him more recognition, that's an average of 0.72 points per game. In the playoffs, he has added 35 points in 45 games, averaging 0.78 points per game, which is strong, consistent production.
"I understand the knock on Lehkonen for this list. He hasn't put in quite as much time as most of the other names and isn't quite the fan favorite as players like Logan O'Connor or Cody McLeod. He has also missed quite a lot of time due to injury and that definitely plays into how people think about these kinds of lists." -Lively

So, while the list doesn't quite make that much sense, it's all in good fun during this time of year.
