According to a Finnish article, MacKinnon stormed out of the room at the end of the interview. The last question he was asked was a follow-up about the poor officiating.
«Horrible whistles. Both ways. We had the puck the whole game, but we only got one power play. So I don't understand. You must be from Finland or something." -MacKinnon
It's clear that the reporter was trying to get a blatant response from the Team Canada forward.
MacKinnon's frustration carried over into Canada's last preliminary game against Sweden on Tuesday. With a goal and two assists, the Avalanche star helped push the Canadians to a 5-3 victory.
With the win, Canada finished first in Group A to play Denmark in the quater-finals on Thursday.
