Colorado Avalanche's Head Coach Called Out His Team Ahead Of Game 4 In A Shocking Way And It Paid Off

The Colorado Avalanche must take Game 4 seriously, as a must-win scenario. If they don't they could enter elimination territory early into the series, and put their playoff hopes in a blender.

Jared Bednar wasn't shy to describe the urgency the team needed when they take on Matt Duchene and the Dallas Stars on home turf tonight.

Bednar's statement:

Down 2-1 in the series, that statement has never been truer. Even with the return of Captain Gabriel Landeskog, the team was unable to put a damper on the Stars' game that night as Tyler Seguin secured the team's 2-1 victory in OT in Ball Arena.

Bednar won't have to ask much out of Mackenzie Blackwood whose performing out of his mind recently, as one of the NHL's top goalies in the playoffs with 1.301 GSAx/60, 2.07 GAA, and a .923 save percentage.

They'll need skaters like Nathan MacKinnon, Valeri Nichushkin, Brock Nelson, Martin Necas, and Jonathan Drouin to contribute to the success of the team tonight.

Nichushkin did contribute a point in Game 3, along with Samuel Girard and Sam Malinski. But the team needs more out of all of the star players, including Nichushkin, who's been a solid 50+ point player in the past for the Avalanche.

This team has excellent depth, but only three players had a point in Game 3, an unacceptable statistic by any measure.

Now they'll have to turn up their engines in the American Airlines Center in the hopes they can turn this around.
