Colorado Avalanche head coach breaks the silence on Gabriel Landeskog's return with an exciting update

Recently Avalanches' captain Gabriel Landeskog had been spotted at the team's practice, as he took part in a number of drills and even stayed out during some of the contact drills.

Along with that he made back to back appearances in the team's practice, something that seems like he hasn't done in forever.

Recently Bednar made it extremely clear that Gabriel Landeskog won't be playing any games this regular season but wants to have him around and participating in team skates, as they don't have many games remaining this season.

The 32-year old forward last appeared in an NHL game just about three seasons ago, as he continues to battle a never ending knee injury, which lead him to a cartilage transplant surgery in May of 2023.

In total, Landeskog has had four surgeries on the same knee since 2020, leaving his NHL future uncertain, according to Arthur Baugh of the Athletic.

However, Bednar issued a exciting statement on how the captain has been ramping his skating over the last few weeks:

Take this anyway you want, but with excitement starting to grow it seems like Landeskog could be looking to return at the beginning of next season, or later in the playoffs.

Over his 11 NHL seasons, Landeskog scored 248 goals and 571 points for the Avalanche, helping the team to the post-season six times.
