Earlier this morning, the Colorado Avalanche completed a surprising roster transaction involving a goaltender, and a recent announcement just confirmed who will get the crease for them tonight.
Today, the Colorado Avalanche begin their three-game road trip, and are kicking it off by taking on the Chicago Blackhawks.
With that it was reported that the Avalanche have recalled a goaltender from the Colorado Eagles in the American Hockey League which has caused some speculation with fans.
The Colorado Avalanche confirmed that goaltender Kevin Mandolese was recalled to the NHL. Fans are speculating that with this news, one of their goaltenders could be dealing with an injury.

Avalanche Confirm Starting Goaltender
The Avalanche have confirmed that Scott Wedgewood is not injured as he will be the starting goaltender for the second straight game.
Scott Wedgewood starts for the Avs tonight against the Blackhawks.
Tonight isn't really an important game for the Avalanche as they have basically secured their spot in the playoffs this year, but it would be nice to see them be able to get a lead and hold on to it.
Recently the Avalanche have been known for blowing multi-goal leads during the third period, and if they could get the win, and not blow another lead it would be something they can build off of as the playoffs near.
