The Dallas Stars defeated the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 in overtime to advance to the Western Conference Final for the third straight year in a row.

The Stars advance to face the Edmonton Oilers in the Conference Final for the yet another second consecutive year and will have home-ice advantage for Game 1.

Colorado Avalanche division rival Dallas Stars move on to the Conference Final for a third straight season.

Stars defenseman Thomas Harley scored a power-play goal just 1:33 into overtime, lifting Dallas to a 2-1 victory over the top-seeded Winnipeg Jets in Game 6 on Saturday night.
Mark Scheifele scored for the Jets just hours after the sudden passing of his father, but also took a tripping penalty with 14.8 seconds remaining in regulation, which gave Dallas a power play to start overtime, ultimately leading to the game-winning goal.
Sam Steel, who had scored earlier for Dallas, was on a partial breakaway when Scheifele made a desperate lunge at the blue line and tripped him. The Stars used their timeout but couldn't capitalize before regulation ended, missing one shot and having another blocked.
Former Avalanche and Stars' playoff point leader Mikko Rantanen will advance to the Conference Final for the second time in his NHL career.
Connor McDavid and the Oilers, who defeated the Stars in six games last year, closed out their second-round series with a 1-0 overtime victory over Vegas in Game 5 on Wednesday night.
Game 1 between the Oilers and Stars is set for Wednesday night.
