The Boston Bruins are reportedly inching closer to pulling off a game-changing trade that would land them young star forward Marco Rossi from the Colorado Avalanche's divisional rival, the Minnesota Wild, a move that could shake up the Central Division race.

Reports indicate that the Wild have been facing difficulties finalizing a contract extension with Rossi.

Matt Levine from Athlon Sports writes that the Bruins are eager to rebound after a disappointing season that saw them miss the playoffs entirely. The team is still seeking to bolster their lineup, particularly on the offensive front.
One potential key addition is young center Rossi from the Wild, who has been caught in a contract negotiation stalemate with his current team.
This situation has sparked a flurry of trade rumours, with speculation growing that the Wild may eventually move Rossi.
NHL writer Michelle Bruton of Bleacher Report has even urged the Bruins to seize the opportunity and make a move for the disgruntled young star.
«The Bruins need an injection of talent up the middle, and they have the cap space and future draft picks to put a package together. However, Boston should be wary of allowing the Wild to include any of the young players in its pipeline in trade negotiations.

«For a team toeing the line between a retool and a rebuild, losing young developmental pieces is not a winning strategy." -Bruton

The Bruins are in dire need of reinforcement at the center position, and Rossi could be the spark the team requires. At just 23 years old, Rossi has already proven he can perform at a high level in the NHL. Last season with the Wild, he recorded 24 goals and 36 assists across 82 games. In the playoffs, he added two goals and one assist in six games.
"This could be a very solid move for the Bruins to consider, and it may help them take that next step in the Eastern Conference." -Levine

With the Wild and Rossi to find common ground, a trade involving the young star could be on the horizon, potentially benefiting a team like Boston.
