According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman,
Manson's contract is worth $7.9 million with an AAV of $3.95.
Avalanche make another questionable signing.
Manson was limited to just 48 games last season due to injury, recording 15 points (one goal, 14 assists) wile averaging 18:02 of ice time per game. His assist and average ice time both ranked fourth among veteran Avalanche defenseman.
The 33-year-old also played in all seven of Colorado's Stanley Cup Playoff games, contributing three points, including goals in the team's final two outings of the season.
Here's what Avalanche GM Chris McFarland had to say following Manson's extension...
«Josh has been an important member of our blue line since joining the team during the 2022 stretch run. He is a steady and tough defender who chips in on the offensive side at key times. He is also a veteran leader in our dressing room, and we are excited to have him under contract for another three seasons.» -MacFarland
Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 218 pounds, the defenseman was part of the Avalanche's 2022 Stanley Cup-winning roster, where he set playoff career highs with three goals and eight points. He notched his first career playoff goal in dramatic fashion, with an overtime winner in Game 1 of the second-round series against the St. Louis Blues on May 17. Manson was acquired before the 2022 trade deadline and went on to sign a four-year contract extension that offseason.
Since his Avalanche debut in March 2022, Manson has racked up 57 points (13 goals, 44 assists) through 173 games.
Manson was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the sixth round (160th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
