Avalanche reveal stunning update concerning newly acquired forward

Olofsson made the headlines last week as the Swedish winger signed a one-year deal with the Avalanche.

Olofsson will sport the number "95", the same number he once wore with the Vegas Golden Knights, in burgundy and blue this coming season.

While the Avalanche had growing concerns over their depth of the bottom six forwards, it seems they resolved some of it after acquiring the veteran forward.

Olofsson fills that role perfectly. He gives that little extra push on offence while minimizing mistakes on defence. He can also help take pressure off the first power play unit.

It'll be a second straight one-year contract for Olofsson. He joined the Vegas Golden Knights last summer on his first trip through unrestricted free agency, reuniting with his former star linemate with the Buffalo Sabres, Jack Eichel.

He didn't spend much of his time on the top line with Eichel, but he had a much better season than he did a year prior, scoring 15 goals and 29 points in 56 games, averaging 14:30 of ice time per night.

Avalanche fans can finally relax a little, they found their missing piece. While it does not complete the entire puzzle on the bottom-six, it's definitely a big step forward in the right direction.

If Olofsson can rediscover his scoring touch, he could prove to be a sneaky-good addition who gives the Avalanche's forward group some much-needed depth and firepower.
