Avalanche unveil 30th anniversary logo for next season.
Stefano Rubino from The Hockey News writes that it all began on August 10, 1995, when the NHL world welcomed the Colorado Avalanche.
Today, the franchise proudly celebrates its 30th anniversary.
"Currently, there is no official confirmation of any patches being added to the jersey or any confirmation of an 'alternate' third jersey. Though it comes with many speculations and rumours of them reviving the Quebec Nordique jerseys." -Rubino
The Nordiques faced challenges both on the ice, struggling with performance, and off the ice, grappling with major financial issues. These difficulties ultimately led to the team relocating to Denver, Colorado where the Avalanche were born.
"Over the past 30 years, the team has had success in multiple "eras". Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, and Adam Foote were part of the Nordiques' core that relocated with the team and helped them win the two Stanley Cups in 1996 and 2001." -Rubino
After many ups and downs, the team once again reached glory by winning the Stanley Cup during the 2022 playoffs.
We'll see if the franchise's 30th anniversary can bring the team some luck next NHL season. They can certainly use some after their last couple seasons.
