The Colorado Avalanche continue to stay busy this offseason as their AHL affiliate Colorado Eagles announced that they have signed forward prospect Mark Senden to a one-year contract extension.
Avalanche prospect signs shocking new deal.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound center tallied eight goals and 15 assists over 61 games with the Eagles in the 2024-25 season, adding two more assists across nine playoff appearances.
Along with appearing in 14 AHL games for the Charlotte Checkers, the third-year pro played a key role in leading the ECHL's Florida Everblades to a Kelly Cup Championship during the 2023-24 season. He recorded 17 goals and 10 assists in 50-regular season games and contributed 15 points over 23 playoff matchups.
Before turning pro, Senden spent five seasons with the University of North Dakota, where he compiled 73 points (26 goals, 47 assists) across 170 NCAA games and served as team captain during his final two years.
Initially an unknown addition, he has now earned a regular spot in the lineup. With fewer than 150 professional games played, he remains attractive to management since he's not classified as a veteran under the player development rule.
Senden's return will solidify the Eagles' top three lines while creating healthy competition for spots on the fourth. He's showed last season that he can hold his own in the AHL and contribute effectively. He's expected to remain with the Eagles this season, and if he continues playing at the level he did, his development should only continue to trend upward.
