On Monday morning, key Avalanche players, including MacKinnon and Landeskog, hit the ice as Landeskog prepares for his first complete season in more than three years.
Fans on high alert after massive update concerning MacKinnon and Landeskog.
Ryan O'Hara from Mile High Hockey writes that a major question heading into the offseason was whether Landeskog would be ready to return.
"Well, Landy answered that question pretty quickly, ripping two wristers that hit nothing but net. Even compared to the Landeskog that we saw during full team practice prior to the first round playoff series against Dallas last season, this version looked fresher and didn't show any signs of rust. There shouldn't be any issues there." -O'Hara
MacKinnon had a memorable offseason, competing for his country at the World Championships, celebrating his wedding, spending time with longtime friend Sidney Crosby, and even enduring a playful prank involving a giant lobster arranged by Erik Johnson at his big day.
"But once MacKinnon returned to the ice, it was clear his focus had shifted fully back to business. Although he did get burned on a few defensive plays, MacKinnon responded with precision, dangles, and scintillating goals." -O'Hara
Jack Drury also took part in the session, putting forth a composed and solid performance. Newly acquired defenseman Brent Burns joined later, quickly chatting with Landeskog and MacKinnon before smoothly diving into drills.
Expectations are high as Colorado looks to MacKinnon and Landeskog to anchor the team and set the tone for another championship push this upcoming season.
