A new report has revealed Sidney Crosby's potential next destination, leaving the Colorado Avalanche in a state of uncertainty as trade rumours continue to swirl around one of the NHL's biggest stars.

This development adds a layer of intrigue and concern for Colorado as they monitor how the situation unfolds.

Latest report unveils Sidney Crosby's next potential landing spot.

Joshua Deeds from Red Wings Insider writes that NHL insider Max Bultman has offered insight into whether the Detroit Red Wings could land Penguins captain Sidney Crosby.
According to Bultman, there's a possibility, making it a fascinating storyline to watch as the trade rumours continue to unfold.
Adding fuel to the fire of trade rumours surrounding the three-time Stanley Cup champion was a comment from his agent, Pat Brisson, who weighed in on the possibility of a move, stating...
"I mean, it's always a possibility, you know? It's been three years they haven't made the playoffs." -Brisson

It's easy to speculate that Steve Yzerman would value the chance to bring Crosby to Detroit, whether via trade or free agency, potentially giving the Red Wings a much-needed boost toward a playoff run.
"A trade could take place between the Penguins and another NHL team, as The Athletic's Max Bultman believes that there could be a chance that the Detroit Red Wings are capable of finalizing a deal with the Metropolitan Division team." -Deeds

The Red Wings have the assets to make a deal for Crosby possible, thanks in part to nearly a decade of missing the playoffs.
The biggest question, however, is whether Crosby would agree to a move to Detroit. While the team still needs a few pieces to become a true contender, Crosby could play a pivotal role in pushing them closer to that goal.
"But while the Red Wings are closer to competing than Pittsburgh, they still haven't broken through. Is that a compelling enough situation for Crosby in his final playing years?" -Bultman

That conversation will need to happen between Crosby and his agent. However, since they've already highlighted the Montreal Canadiens, Detroit appears to be more of a long-shot contender to land the Penguins.
"I'm sure the Red Wings would love to trade for Crosby. He's certainly getting up there in age, but he's still an elite offensive player and brings the kind of winning ingredients they need to get over the hump. Detroit also has the prospect capital to make an intriguing offer." -Bultman

Last season with the Penguins, Crosby tallied 91 points, recording 33 goals and 58 assists across 80 games.
