"Some have speculated that the Stars could trade Robertson this offseason to avoid any issues during the season. And now we have another update on the Robertson front." -Levine
According to NHL insider Jeff Marek, the Stars may be nearing a decision on Robertson. Marek, who has been closely connected to the situation, suggests that a development could be on the horizon.
"I really do suspect that something will happen with Jason Robertson; it feels like it's going to be sooner than later; Nill has a number in his mind and won't go over it; we might find out quickly; either an extension or maybe a trade." -Marek
If the Stars decide to move Robertson, the Anaheim Ducks have previously been linked as a potential trade partner. Anaheim has a pool of quality prospects they could offer in return, something that would likely catch Dallas' attention.
"Robertson is one of the better young players around the league, but Dallas is skeptical of paying him for some reason. Last season, he scored 35 goals and 45 assists for the Stars." -Levine
