Colorado Avalanche divisional rival appears ready to thrive this season following the addition of head coach Glen Gulutzan, whose leadership and experience could have significant impact on the team's performance and outlook.

Gulutzan was wired by the Stars earlier this offseason.

Glen Gulutzan set to shake things up in Dallas this season.

Brian Sweet from Blackout Dallas writes that we've examined the offseason moves of all the Central Division teams, and it's been eye-opening to see how each club is shaping up. Utah could emerge as a surprise contender this season, given the significant investments they've made to bolster their roster.
"Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche are poised to be the biggest challenge to the Stars, especially with captain Gabriel Landeskog returning. This division might just be the deepest in the entire NHL.

The Dallas Stars are looking to get over the hump of making it to the Stanley Cup Finals under Glen Gulutzan. With his approach of having a creative offense, it might be what the Stars were lacking last season to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals." -Sweet

It's going to be a long season for the Stars with all the tough teams in their division.
Can the Stars win the Central Division?
Here's why the Stars should be able to reach the top of the Central Division this season.
The Dallas Stars made several cost-cutting moves after committing $96 million over the next decade to Mikko Rantanen. Mason Marchment was traded to the Seattle Kraken, and the team wasn't able to re-sign Mikael Granlund.
These moves likely freed up cap space to add some grit with Nathan Bastian. GM Jim Nill did his best to preserve the majority of the core for Glen Gulutzan's first season in Dallas.
"I think the Stars will have the best three top lines in the league this upcoming season. No matter which way you pair them, you have nine great scoring forwards per line. Mikko Rantanen is going to thrive in his first full season in Dallas.

Gulutzan plans to utilize him to jumpstart the offense this season. I even think Mavrik Bourque will have a breakout season with the Stars this season. He's completely healthy and has shown progress during the preseason, demonstrating improvement over the offseason." -Sweet

The Stars are poised to excel under Gulutzan's coaching style, making them strong contenders to claim the Central Division crown from the Winnipeg Jets.
