As the NHL season and Winter Olympics approach, all eyes will be on the official rosters, and one potential surprise could be former Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup champion Nazem Kadri making Team Canada's squad.

Kadri was snubbed last year from the team for the 4-Nations tournament and he is motivated to change the outcome this time around.

Nazem Kadri eyes Olympic opportunity with Team Canada.

Emma Miller of Puck Prose did a deep dive on who got snubbed from Team Canada last year at the 4-Nations tournament, and who has a chance of making it this time.
Kadri expressed his disappointment with not being selected, stating that he at least deserved a shot.
"He has every reason to feel that way, given his bounce-back seasons with the Calgary Flames over the last two years. Following a minor slump where he recorded a lower-than-usual 56 points in 82 games in 2022-23, Kadri rebounded with 29 goals and 75 points in 2023-24. He then followed that up with a career-high 35 goals and a total of 67 points this past season." -Miller

Kadri also proved that he can perform when it matters most, as he played a pivotal role with the Avalanche winning the Stanley Cup back in 2022.
"Putting up 15 points in 16 playoff games en route to the championship. He has proven that he still has gas in the tank at age 34, generating more scoring chances, shot attempts, and rush attempts than any member of the Flames. Kadri is a force to be reckoned with offensively, and his stats on the scoresheet as well as the advanced numbers support his statement that he deserves a second look." -Miller

Not only does Kadri produce offensively, he brings grit and physicality to what would be arguably the most skilled team in the Olympics. You need to balance that out with someone who goes in the corners, wins battles, and creates space for your skill guys to make plays.
If Kadri has a strong start to the season, there is a case to be made that he should make the team and play a solid depth role on the 3rd or 4th line for the Olympic favourites.
