A major announcement was made regarding Avalanche's Cale Makar amidst current playoff run

With the Colorado Avalanche currently in the middle of a battle in the playoffs against the Dallas Stars, a massive announcement was just made regarding their top defenseman Cale Makar.
Colorado entered Dallas after tying up the series, and was looking to take the lead back for the first time since game 1.
This did not happen, and things did not go their way as Dallas dominated them, beating them 6-2 to take a 3-2 lead in the series, and now the Avalanche are going to have to battle back.
Mackenie Blackwood looked shaky for the first time this series, giving up some very bad goals, and ended up getting pulled after allowing five goals.
With the Avalanche having a day off, a huge announcement was just made regarding defenseman Cale Makar.

Today the Norris Trophy finalist were named by the NHL, and it's no surprise that Cale Makar was a finalists. Along with him, Quinn Hughes, and Zachary Werenski were also nominated.
Quinn Hughes of the #Canucks, Cale Makar of the #GoAvsGo and Zach Werenski of #CBJ are the three finalists for the 2024-25 James Norris Memorial Trophy, awarded «to the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position.» #NHL
This is the 5th time in six years that Makar has been named a finalist for the James Norris Memorial Trophy, this guy is the definition of a goat, and it's hard to picture him not winning it this year.
