Drury became part of the Avalanche organization through the trade that sent Mikko Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Jack Drury set to be a difference maker for the Avalanche next season.
Bryan Logan from Clutch Points writes that in 33 game with the Avalanche, Drury scored five goals and added four assists. His advanced stats suggest he has the potential for a major breakout this season.
In 33 games with Colorado, Drury posted career highs in individual point percentage and nearly doubled his previous best shooting percentage. He also set personal bests in expected goals, scoring chances created, and high-danger chances per 60 minutes.
All signs point to Drury being in an ideal position for a breakout in 2025-26.
"He is projected to play on the third line this year with Victor Olofsson and Ross Colton. This should increase his ice time per game next season. Olofsson has been a solid goal scorer in his career, so this will give a chance for Drury to pile up the assists this year. His passing has improved year over year, and he will get a chance to show that off this year." -Logan
Additionally, Drury will remain a primary goal-scoring option on the third line and is poised to surpass his career-high goal total this season.
The Avalanche are an elite team, one of the league's top scorers, and with the addition of Mackenzie Blackwood, they now boast one of the NHL's strongest defensive unites as well.
Now, the Avalanche need other players to take the next step. If Blackwood can deliver the same level of goaltending as last season, and with two new scoring threats complementing Nathan MacKinnon and Brock Nelson, Colorado will have all the pieces in place for a serious Cup run.
