Insider provides shocking statement concerning newly acquired Avalanche goal scorer

While newly acquired sniper Victor Olofsson provides a lot of depth for the Colorado Avalanche, there should also be a consideration that he joins the teams top power play unit next NHL season.
The Swedish winger provides a lethal shot that would be useful off the half wall on the man advantage.
Victor Olofsson should be on the Avalanche's top power play unit.
Katie Barlett of Mile High Sticking recently reported on the Avalanche's acquisition of Olofsson. While the winger provides much needed help on the bottom six, he could also be quite useful on the top power play.
"Victor Olofsson comes highly touted for his shot, particularly his one-timer. He has a career 13.5% shooting percentage and is not afraid to put the puck on net. If there is one thing that the Avs top power play needs, it is a sniper who is both willing and able to finish the opportunities created by playmakers like MacKinnon, Necas, and Makar. Since he is a left-handed shot, Olofsson would be able to set up shop in the right-hand faceoff circle and wait for the scoring chances to come to him." -Barlett
We witnessed a clear lack of production by Colorado's power play in the post season. At only 13.6% in the first round they were third last amongst the playoff teams. With all that puck movement you need someone who can simply shoot the puck and Olofsson could be that person.
Even if he doesn't score off his initial shot you also have Gabriel Landeskog returning, who will most likely play a net front role and is amongst the league's best in that area.
If Colorado does not decide to put him on the first unit, they still have him as a second unit option along with the addition of Brent Burns to quarterback that power play, you take a lot of pressure off the top guys to produce.
