Colorado Avalanche fans are growing increasingly concerned after top prospect Sean Behrens was forced to leave the team's final preseason game early on Saturday night against the Dallas Stars, leaving many to wonder about the severity of the issue and its potential impact on his role once the regular season begins.
Behrens didn't see any ice time in the second or third periods during Saturday's 3-2 loss in Dallas.

Aarif Deen from Colorado Hockey Now writes that the Avalanche fell 3-2 in their preseason finale, Behrens' status moving forward remains unclear.
"Behrens was one of eight call-ups the Avs made ahead of the game to allow several of their top player an opportunity to rest. The 22-year-old had a solid showing in preseason before he was initially sent to the AHL." -Deen
An extended absence would be a major setback for Behrens' development.
Sean Behrens was not on the bench the last chunk of the period. Hope it's nothing serious. He missed all of last season with a knee injury.
The DU alumnus missed the entire 2024-25 season due to a training camp injury and has only appeared in one professional game for the Eagles since signing his entry-level contract out of college over a year and a half ago.
Saturday's preseason game was meant to be his chance to kickstart his pro career and get his development back on track.
With Behrens sidelined for the final two periods, the Avalanche leaned heavily on their blue line.
Sam Malinski logged a team-high 31:03 of ice time, while
Jack Ahcan contributed 22:59.
Samuel Girard, making his preseason debut, was close behind with 22:49, showcasing the defensive depth Colorado may rely on this season.
