The Colorado Avalanche are left with plenty of questions to address following yet another Game 7 postseason defeat.

One player who has proven not be a concern is forward Artturi Lehkonen who continues to establish himself as a vital part of the Avalanche lineup.

Recent report gives brutally honest assessment of Avalanche star forward.

Ryan Womeldorf from Yardbarker writes that since arriving via trade from the Montreal Canadiens, Lehkonen has established himself as a reliable fixture in the Avalanche's top six.
"Like several other members of the Avalanche, Lehkonen dealt with injuries to begin the season. He had offseason shoulder surgery, so the team knew they would be without him to begin the campaign. He ultimately made his debut on Nov. 11 against the Seattle Kraken, scoring a goal and adding an assist." -Womeldorf

Lehkonen made an instant impact, recording three multi-point performances in his first five games, a clear sign that his growth with the Avalanche was no accident. However, injuries had hampered him in the two previous seasons, limiting him to just 45 games in 2023-24.
"Lehkonen responded by suiting up in 69 games - the most he's appeared in since 2021-22. He also scored a career-high 27 goals, finishing with 45 points for the second-most of his career. He also had a knack for coming up big, scoring a career-high five game-winning goals as well." -Womeldorf

Playmaking has never been a key part of Lehkonen's game, but overall, his strong performance is a major positive for the Avalanche, and his potential heading into the 2025-26 season is certainly something to watch.
For Lehkonen, staying healthy and available will be key. If he can suit up for at least 75 games, he's well positioned to surpass the 51 points he posted in 2022-23, and could very well push for his first 30-goal campaign in the process.
