However,
Nathan MacKinnon may be focused on something entirely different this summer.
Insider confirms that an Avalanche star is reportedly trying to bring Sidney Crosby to Colorado.
Caleb Kerney from Yahoo Sports writes that with revenge fueling
MacKinnon, Elliotte Friedman suggests he'll be going all-in on his efforts to recruit Crosby to join the Avalanche.
Here's what Friedman had to say on an earlier episode of the 32 Thoughts Podcast...
«You don't think MacKinnon is going to be all over Crosby.» -Friedman
Crosby signed a contract extension with the Penguins just last year, so why would he consider leaving? According to Friedman, the explanation may be tied to a recent decision made by the organization.
«Pittsburgh just made a coaching change because Kyle Dubas and Mike Sullivan disagreed on the path from here. Sullivan wants to win sooner, Dubas sees more of a rebuild.» -Friedman
Friedman views this as a prime chance for MacKinnon to try and bring Crosby on board in Colorado.
«Do you want to miss more years in the playoffs? Why don't you come to Colorado, play with me, and we rule the league from the Western Conference?" -Friedman
In a world where the Avalanche managed to land Crosby, he'd more than make up for losing Rantanen.
«It's going to be like this the whole summer, first at the World Championships and then when they get back to Nova Scotia.» -Friedman
Crazier things have happened, so stay tuned!
