The St. Louis Blues continue to be connected to one of the NHL's most sought-after trade targets.
Among many teams, the Blues have reportedly been interested in trading for Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram for awhile now.

Michael DeRosa from The Hockey News writes that according to The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford, a league source has indicated that the Blues are making a strong push to Byram. Rutherford also mentioned that Byram is a potential offer sheet candidate, though he clarified that St. Louis is unlikely to pursue him through that route.
This isn't the first time the Blues have been tied to Byram. Late last month, NHL insider Darren Dreger reported that St. Louis was among the teams showing interest in the Sabres defenseman. With this latest update, the connection between Byram and the Blues appears to be gaining even more traction.
"However, it also makes sense that the Blues are reportedly making a push to acquire Byram. Nick Leddy and his $4 million cap hit were claimed off waivers by the San Jose Sharks. Thus, the Blues have a spot available on their blueline and more cap space to work with." -DeRosa
Landing Byram would be a major boost for the Central Division's St. Louis Blues. At 24, Byram is a prime-age, top-four defenseman known for his reliable offensive contributions. He could easily become a cornerstone of the Blues' roster for years to come. Now, it's just a matter of waiting to see if St. Louis can come out on top in the race to acquire him.
