The Colorado Avalanche seem to have reached a conclusion regarding Martin Necas, with indications pointing toward a potential trade if a contract agreement can't be reached.
Ever since
Necas was brought in via trade, the vibe surrounding the team has all changed.
Avalanche have reportedly made up their mind with Necas.
Yardbarker reports that with an already stacked forward group, Colorado continues to draw attention, and one name that keeps surfacing is Necas.
Acquired last winter in the blockbuster deal involving
Mikko Rantanen, Necas is entering the final year of his contract. Set to become a UFA next summer, his uncertain future is causing plenty of anxiety within the organization.
The Avalanche hace reportedly set an internal deadline to finalize a deal with Necas. According to Frank Seravalli, the team has made its stance clear: either get a contract done immediately or move him in a trade.

The Avalanche are determined not to repeat last year's mistake with Rantanen, spending the entire season in contract talks only to lose a cornerstone player. They're looking to avoid that scenario Necas.
"Necas does have value to the team. He's not getting attention, but within the organization, there is talk that he will be traded if contract talks do not go well." -Yardbarker
If the Avalanche can't agree on a contract that meets their expectations, don't be shocked if they trade Necas before the season kicks off. Colorado can't afford to begin another year with that level of uncertainty looking over their core.
