Six Conference Final losses since 2019 raises serious concern for Avalanche divisional rival

The Dallas Stars and Carolina Hurricanes have been eliminated, and Mikko Rantanen will not be given the opportunity to play against his former team.
Once again, it's the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers who will battle it out for the ultimate prize in the Stanley Cup Final for a second consecutive year.
Another Conference Final loss for the Dallas Stars raises serious concern for the Avalanche divisional rival.
Charles-Alexis Brisebois from Dose writes that for the sixth time in the past seven seasons, Stars' head coach Peter DeBoer, nicknamed "Mr. Game-Seven", advanced to the Western Conference Final, yet once again fell short of making it to the Stanley Cup Final. He's reached this stage with the Sharks in 2019, Golden Knights in 2020 and 2021, and Stars in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Pete DeBoer has now been eliminated in the Conference Finals in six of the past seven seasons.
Brisebois also writes that Even early on in his coaching career, DeBoer reached the Stanley Cup Final twice; first with the Devils in 2012 and then with the Sharks in 2016. Unfortunately for him, both runs ended in defeat, falling to the Kings and Penguins respectively.
It's hard not to wonder how much further DeBoer can go before his high-ups start seriously weighing the idea of bringing in someone else to push the team over the hump. At this point, it wouldn't be all that shocking if a coaching change ends up on the table at some point before the start of next season for the Stars.
