It's clear that pending free agent Mitch Marner's future will be the hottest topic in the hockey world over the course of the summer. Although some people are saying that Marner would be a bad fit in Colorado , recent reports suggest otherwise.

The Markham, Ontario, native just completed his sixth season with the Toronto Maple Leafs and is expected to test the market once he becomes a free agent on July 1.

NHL insider predicts why Mitch Marner will sign with the Colorado Avalanche.

Jackson Weber from Sportskeeda writes that Marner's nine years in Toronto have been quite the roller coaster of ups and downs.
"His regular-season production has been tremendous, and he's established himself as one of the premier wingers in the NHL. On the flip side, Marner has never been able to get it done in the playoffs and has taken a ton of heat from the fanbase for those shortcomings." -Weber

All signs are pointing that Marner will choose to sign elsewhere this summer, and start fresh with a new team. The question is, which team would be the best fit for him?
One NHL analyst suggests that Marner is best suited playing for a Western Conference powerhouse like the Colorado Avalanche or Vegas Golden Knights.
ESPN writer Greg Wyshynski appeared on The Street with Jeff Marek Wednesday morning and shared where he thinks Marner should take his talents to.
"I don't want Mitch Marner to go someplace where he has to be the guy. Like, I would rather see him in Vegas. I would rather see him in Colorado. I would rather see him someplace where they are some, for lack of a better term, adults in the room that may or may not have a ring on their finger who have done this before, where Mitch doesn't have to be the guy fake yelling at the team and then doing nothing." -Wyshynski

And according to Leafs Latest, Marner has no intentions on resigning with Toronto.
Marner has been the whipping boy in Toronto for several years now, writes Weber. A change of scenery will do him some good.
Once he comes a free agency on July 1, you have to expect a vast majority of teams kicking the tires to acquire his elite skills.
