One of several trades the Colorado Avalanche completed this season took place on March 1, when they acquired defenseman Ryan Lindgren amd forward Jimmy Vesey.

In exchange, the Avs sent Juuso Parssinen, Calvin de Haan, a second-round pick, and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft to the Rangers.

NHL announces shocking news concerning two Avalanche players.

Coby Maeir from NHL.com writes that Lindgren averaged 19:00 of ice time over 18 regular-season games with the Avalanche, recording three points (2 goals, and 1 assist). In the playoffs, he added three assists while logging 18:37 per game.
Vesey, meanwhile, contributed two points (1 goal, and 1 assist) in 10 regular-season appearances.
Counting his time with the Rangers, Lindgren tallied 22 points (4 goals, and 18 assists) across 72 regular-season games, averaging 19:42 of ice time. Vesey recorded eight points (5 goals, and 3 assists) over 43 games split between New York and Colorado, with one of those goals marking the 100th of his NHL career.
"The Avalanche went 6-0-0 in the six games in which Lindgren played at least 20 minutes for Colorado. Among players with at least five games with a minimum of 20 minutes this season, Lindgren was one of three to go undefeated." -Maier

In an April 8th win over the Vegas Golden Knights, Vesey became just the second player born in Boston, Massachusetts, to score a goal for the Avalanche franchise. He joined Paul Stewart, who tallied two goals for the Quebec Nordiques during the 1970-80 season.
"All three of Lindgren's regular-season points with the Avalanche came against Canadian teams. He posted his 100th-career point on March 8th when he picked up an assist in a 7-4 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He scored his first goal with Colorado when they defeated the Calgary Flames on March 14th and added another tally in the team's 5-4 victory against the Montreal Canadiens on March 22nd." -Maier

Both Lindgren and Vesey are set to become unrestricted free agents this offseason. Looking ahead to the 2025-26 campaign, Lindgren is just 12 assists shy of reaching 100 for his career. Meanwhile, Vesey is approaching several milestones of his own. He's 74 games away from 700, needs seven more assists to hit 100, and is just six points short of reaching the 200-point mark in his career.
