Necas has reportedly been unhappy with his early stint in Colorado.
Los Angeles Kings eyeing blockbuster trade for Martin Necas.
Andrew Miller from Rink Royalty writes that heading into the upcoming season, the Los Angeles Kings and new general manager Ken Holland could be a team to watch on the trade market as they look to bolster their top-six forward group with a high-end center or winger.
With proven scorers like
Adrian Kempe and
Kevin Fiala already in place, the Kings are seeking additional support to elevate their offensive attack.
If the Kings turn to the Central Division for scoring help this season, several intriguing names rumoured to be on the trade block could be worth monitoring in the coming months.
"Since he [Necas] was traded from the Canes to the Avs last season around the deadline, Necas has been involved in various trade discussions and rumors over the past few months." -Miller
Avalanche center Martin Necas is coming off a career-best 2024-25 season, posting 83 points and 27 goals. He caught fire early with Carolina, racking up 55 points in 49 games before the trade deadline, and continued his surge in Colorado with 28 points in 30 games alongside superstar
Nathan MacKinnon.
"Necas can become an unrestricted free agent next summer in the 2026 offseason, making him the topic of a lot of trade speculation and discussion this offseason." -Miller
If the Kings were to pursue Necas in a hypothetical trade with Colorado, he could provide the top-six scoring punch and young talent Los Angeles has been searching for to bolster its forward core.
