Former Colorado Avalanche star forward Mikko Rantanen issues a bold statement before meeting his former team in the first round of this year's playoffs.
The Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars best-of-seven playoff series has officially begun on Saturday night, something many fans were looking forward to considering the Avalanche faced the Stars in the Conference Semi-Finals last year and lost the series in six games.
Thankfully, the Avalanche have a pretty decent playoff history against the Stars, as they have a record of 19-18 overall. The Stars having home ice doesn't matter too much, as the Avalanche have an 11-8 record on the road.
Something the Colorado Avalanche want to keep up, but this year things will be different as they now have to face former teammate Mikko Rantanen.
Mikko Rantanen's words comeback to haunt him after playoff game-one against the Avalanche
Just recently Mikko Rantanen spoke with reporters, during their practice on Friday ahead of Game one. While doing so he discussed what it was going to be like when he faces his former team and teammate for the first time in the playoffs.
«It's business, the trade didn't happen two days ago,» Rantanen said. «It's been a while now since I haven't played with the Avs anymore. It's been three months.»
«I think it's all behind us. Now it's just part of a new team and I'm excited and (it's) time to execute.»

Certainly something that didn't look to be behind the Colorado Avalanche organization, as they didn't take it easy on the Stars as they pushed through to pull off a 5-1 victory to take the early lead in this playoff series.
