The Colorado Eagles are still making moves to try and improve their roster ahead of next season.

The Eagles, the AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have officially signed forward Neil Shea to an AHL contract for the 2025-26 season.

Avalanche prospect signs a new and exciting deal.

The Eagles have signed Neil Shea to a one-year AHL contract. He played 8 games with them last season with 1g/2a. He will likely be a top-line Grizzlies forward.

Last season, Shea recorded one goal and two assists in eight games with the Eagles, while also tallying 19 goals and 20 assists over 36 games with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies. His 19 goals ranked second on the team.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 200 pounds, Shea is set to enter his third professional season. He previously appeared in seven AHL games with the Toronto Marlies and Chicago Wolves, picking up two points. In the 2023-24 season, he also recorded 18 goals and 19 assists across 64 ECHL games with the Newfoundland Growlers.
Shea played four seasons at the NCAA level, dividing his collegiate career between Northeastern University and Sacred Heart University. Over 123 NCAA games, the 25-year-old registered 27 goals and 40 assists. He earned recognition with a spot on the AHA All-Conference Team in 2021-22 and was named to the AHA All-Star Team the following season in 2022-23.
Shea is expected to bring speed and agility to the Eagles' fourth line, with the ability to maneuver well around the corners. He possesses a deceptive wrist shot capable of fooling lower-level goaltenders and is relentless on the forecheck.
